About Groupride
From your door to the dirt — together.
The Story
Groupride was born from a simple frustration: amazing trails exist everywhere, but getting there — especially for beginners — is the hardest part. No car, no ride, no trail. That felt wrong.
I'm Jani, a mountain biker from Finland who spends most free time in the woods, on rocks, and occasionally flying over handlebars. I lead beginner MTB rides for Pattila MTB and Turun Latu (part of the Suomen Latu organization), helping new riders discover that mountain biking is the best thing that ever happened to wheels.
Personally, I'm drawn to the hard stuff — technical rocky terrain, rooty singletrack that makes you think, and fast enduro descents where you just hold on and trust the bike. But I believe every rider deserves access to great trails, regardless of skill level or whether they own a car.
Why This Exists
Groupride is my way of solving the logistics problem. Find rides near you, offer a seat in your car, or hop in with someone heading to the same trailhead. Less time planning, more time pedaling. Less solo drives, more stories on the way there.
This is a passion project. My day job is running Supermind, a retail SaaS company. Groupride has nothing to do with that — it's built purely out of love for the sport and the community around it. No investors, no monetization agenda. Just a rider building something for other riders.
The Vision
Imagine opening an app, seeing three rides happening this weekend within reach, tapping "I'm going," and getting picked up by another rider on the way. Trails you never knew existed. People you never would have met. That's the future I'm building toward.

Pricing & Sustainability
Groupride is and will remain free to use for individuals, friend groups, and local riding communities. I built this to support the cycling community, not to profit from it. Everyone deserves access to group rides and shared transport to the trailhead — regardless of budget.
To keep the lights on and cover running costs, we may introduce a small fee for larger corporate users who benefit commercially from the platform in the future. But for everyday riders, clubs, and non-profit organizations — it's free. Always.
See you on the trail. 🤙
